Because the iPad Pro 11 has the same body size as the iPad Pro 10.5, will the cases & keyboard cases made for the iPad Pro 10.5 fit the iPad Pro 11?

Not from what I can gather from Apple’s website. When I checked for cases & protection for iPads and used the filter function to choose only items compatible with the 11” iPad, the only things listed were the new Smart Keyboard folio, and smart folio cases for the 11” only. Even though the 10.5 & 11 inch iPads may be the same size, they’re not the same shape - as the new 11” has squared off edges (like the iPhone 4-5s), and the 10.5’s were rounded. Also, the smart connector is in a different location between the two - portrait versus landscape orientation.

They have a smart folio on their site today, I ordered it and it will be here on Saturday, 4 days before the iPad is getting here lol.

Did anyone get the folio? I normally love the quality and feel of apple cases. I am not a fan of this one. It sticks out from behind the iPad a little and feels uncomfortable to hold. And at $80... there is not much to it. I think I am going to return but will need a new case. Anyone have suggestions?

I’m using the simple case linked below. I’ve ways used this style. It arrived the day before my iPad. Before the iPad arrived, the manufacturer emailed me to advise that this case does not allow carrying/charging the Apple Pencil. They offered to send me an updated design at no cost and no need to return the original case. That’s good service!

I currently have the Folio, which I’m happy with so far. Yes, it’s very nice, but $80 is quite high. For that money, we’re getting into super nice Pad & Quill-type boutique territory. My 10.5 had the P&Q Oxford, which I can’t recommend enough; really a perfect case for that form factor. I may return the Folio, and go that route again.

I have the Apple folio case. Very expensive for what I got. Only protects the left side, front, back, top and bottom. I have had Piel Frama for all of my iPads, 1 thru iPad Pro 9.7". They are expensive BUT they are worth it. Plenty of protection. Covers all side. I'm also looking at the Mac-case folio. the only problem is that on their iPad Pro 9.7 case it had a metal frame around the iPad.

Right now the apple folio is the only option for me. I love the pencil but the keyboard annoys me. Reaching over it to the screen is a chore and takes away from the fun of having a screen only product. With the magnets any case not utilizing them makes it bulky. So for me, until there is a case that is as thin as the apple folio that takes into count the pencil then I have one option. Just my opinion.

I bought this ESR case from amazon. It doesn’t have the cut out for the pencil but it seems to charge it if placed just right. For the price I’ll take the finickiness until we get some more options.

I think the folio does the job. Protects the iPad against scratches without adding any bulk. Im not crazy about the edges and how they stick out over the edges of the iPad just a tiny bit. Gives it an unfinished feel. But, I've played the iPad case game with every iPad I've owned and most of them fall short by either adding too much bulk or making it too heavy, or the flap doesn't fold back nicely so it gets in the way. Sucks that I have to pay the Apple premium to get their case because I agree its overpriced, but from my experience it will do the job better than anything else I will find.

I decided to purchase the Otterbox Symmetry 360. I also have the white Apple folio. I prefer this one because the apple pencil is tucked away when the case is closed.

I've decided to return my Apple Folio and go with the P&Q Oxford. The Folio looks good, but for my use needs, it's very limited. Also, my iPad occasionally slips away from the magnetic case, which worries me a bit.
