Music app won’t launch and locks up in Settings

Hi, I have an iPad Pro 9.7” running iOS 11.1.2.

The Music app launches to a blank / black screen.

Going to Settings>Music completely locks up the Settings ... I can’t even click on other tabs within Settings, I have to quit and relaunch.

Did a force restart, uninstalled and reinstalled Music from the App Store. Still the same issues as above.

What’s wrong with my Music and how do I fix it other than an hour long trip to an Apple Store (which I hate)?

Hello Michelle, welcome to iMore :)

Perform an encrypted backup using iTunes, factory reset the device and then set it up as new. Next reinstall from backup. That should help fix any corrupt files with the music app or with the iOS system files.
