iPad Pro, why am I unable to plug the charger in?

IPad Pro

Just bought the iPad Pro and have it all set up, but now needs to be charged. When I try to put the end into the iPad, it seems there is a piece of rubber there, so I didn't push it in yet, didn't know if it's a safety feature and I need to push it in, or if the piece of rubber is to be taken out. There seems to be some resistance and don't want to mess it up. Thanks

Piece of rubber? Take it to the nearest Apple Store and have a genius look at it and show you how to charge your iPad Pro.
