iPad Pro 9.7" Not Using ALL External Monitor Real Estate

Yesterday, I finally got my AV Adapter so that I can connect to my external monitor via HDMI. I first tried my iPhone 6s+ and when I turned my phone sideways, it filled the whole monitor...Using every square inch. Now, I mainly got the adapter for my iPad Pro. I plugged in my iPad Pro & no matter what direction I turned it, it would never use all of the screen real estate.

Any ideas of why the phone will, but the iPad won't? Is there a way I can fix this?

It's probably the screen shape. The iPad has a 4:3 screen ratio. Your external monitor may have a 16:9 ratio.

Yea, I figured it was probably that. I just found it odd that it worked on the iPhone, but not the iPad

I guess you there isn't much I can do about it then.
