While fixing dinner the other night, I set mine on the kitchen counter and used WatchESPN to stream a baseball game. I was really surprised how good the sound was. It was as though I had a tv sitting there. I doubt I'll use the speakers very much, but I'm sure satisfied with the quality.

I'm really impressed with the speakers on the iPad Pro 9.7 (coming from the iPad Air 2)

Anyone else notice one side sounds louder than the other? I noticed the speaker grills are different sizes and wondered if that could be the cause.

I haven't noticed that. There's no slider control for adjusting the left/right balance, however. It's digital audio, so if sound balance is off it's probably in the source material. If it appears to be true for all sources, you may have a hardware issue that needs Apple's attention.

I was just wondering the same thing. To me, it sounds like it favors the bottom speakers.

Personally, I don't think the speakers sound bad by any means but I don't think they are great. I wouldn't buy this ipad purely because of the speakers.

Is the difference in loudness and sound quality like heaven and earth, if we compare iPad Pro 9.7 with iPad Air?

They are way better than the iPad Air 2 but having had the 12.9" Pro, they are not quite as good as the larger model.
