Hello all! I'm a university student who has been saving up for an iPad as a birthday present to myself. I'm not sure which size/storage I should get. I plan on using my iPad for notetaking, streaming movies/tv shows, and sketching/drawing. I have a 2015 macbook pro that I would use for my heavier tasks. I'm not sure if I should get the 10.5 iPP with 64 or 256GB or 12.9 iPP with 64GB. I'm on a budget so I would not be able to afford larger storage on the 12.9 iPP. What do you think?

The difference is $150. Since you say you're "saving up for an iPad", I recommend you save an additional $150 and go with the 12.9" iPad Pro especially since you stated that you will be streaming movies/TV shows and sketching/drawing. Of course, you will also have to buy the Pencil unless you'll be using a fine point stylus like the Adonit Jot Pro or something. Anyway, since you'll be using the iPad Pro in conjunction with your MacBook Pro, 64 GBs should be sufficient for you, in my opinion.

I agree with JMD. I think if you have the choice, the 12.9 would be better for what you describe as your use case. I have the 10.5, and while the 99% perfect, there are those times when I want to show something to someone across a desk and 10.5 is just okay for that. The additional real estate will come in handy when you probably wouldn't expect it to.

I also agree with JMD - I still have the 2015 12.9 and (after hearing from everyone that it's too big) I'm extremely happy with it & all the things it can do. I'm very glad I didn't go smaller.

Either too big or too heavy. I do not see this. Never too big as far as heavy does not seem that way to me.

I have both the 10.5 and the 12 second generation.
I was using cases on both and the 12 was too cumbersome.
I recently removed the cases and use these naked as designed by Apple to be used.
The difference is amazing,
I use the 10.5 propped up by pillows in bed Twitter, Facebook reading news etc..
The 12 iPad I find I can research and write better with the split screen.
With full screen it’s a pleasure to type on the screen keyboard.
Split screen on twelve means you can have in effect two different computers.
If I were to choose I would choose the 12 iPad
But so that it is not cumbersome do not put a case over it, I store mine in a sleeve when not in use or if carried in a bag. eBay sells shoulder bags which should fit the 12 perfectly.
If you love books, surfing the net, lying in bed listening to podcasts and audio books the 10.5 iPad is the best, I fall asleep very quickly with an audio book, Rich Dawkins books recited by him and Lala Ward send me to sleep within twenty minute, and yes you can set the timer to switch off the audio after a time.
