Awkward Apple pen

Is there a way to charge the Apple Pen without having it protrude from the bottom? I carry My iPad frequently and I always feel like the pen is going to snap off! Does anyone know of an external battery supply I could use to charge the thing?

You could always get one of the portable USB Battery chargers, like the RAVPower or others, and plug your lightning cable in to it and use the Pencil adapter to plug the pencil in the the cable.

Lol. It really is kind of awkward ... awkward but very convenient. Didn't the pencil come with an adapter? I can't remember for sure bc I never use it. I just do it awkwardly and move on.
