I keep people say 9.7 is newer ? Better ?

Why ?

Thx

Well I do not think the 9.7" is better.

Screen Resolution
The 12.9" has a larger screen resolution and for apps that support it gives the 12.9" additional screen estate.

RAM
The 12.9" has 4GB RAM whereas the 9.7" has only 2GB.

Processor
Whilst both devices share the AX9; on the iPad comparison page, Apple lists the specs of the A9X in both of the iPad Pros, comparing them to the A7 chip in the iPad Air, iPad mini 2/3, and iPhone 5s. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro lists a 2.5x faster CPU and 5x faster graphics, while the 9.7-inch iPad Pro lists a 2.4x faster CPU and 4.3x faster graphics.

Speakers
Have you heard the sound from the 4 speakers on the 12.9" Pro, awesome.

Speakers i would think would not be a advantage, since same 'four speakers' is also on the 9.7 as well, plus they have same CPU

iPad - Compare Models - Apple

So really, the only advantage is True Tone,as stated above..

oh ya, and Live photos on the 9.7-inch

I have both iPad pros. One thing I've noticed is that if you download an iPhone app from the App Store to the 9.7" iPad it fills the screen, if you download it to the 12.9" screen than it doesn't fill it. You still have space around the app. If the app isn't optimized for the big screen than it won't fill it.

Hope this helps.

Lightning connector on 12.9 is USB 3 and only USB 2 on 9.7. The camera in 12.9 is 8 MP an 12MP in 9.7 The 9.7 came will do Raw files, the 12.9 will not shot Raw. While both have 4 speakers, the 12.9 sounds better to me, so I'm guessing, maybe larger speakers?

I was wrong about the optimization on the big pro. I downloaded tiny tower and it fit the screen with no problem. I deleted it after that. So there shouldn't be any problem with apps.

Just by a little bit. I have both iPad pros & " I " can't tell a difference. Apple says the big pro is clocked a little faster than the 9.7" one.

I've got both. The True Tone display is honestly the only difference you'll probably notice aside from the obvious size difference. Personally i use my 12.9 quite a bit more.

12.9" speakers are stronger than 9.7" specially in base according to:
