Why Does iPad pro charger get so hot?

My iPad pro gets extremely hot when charging

Welcome to iMore! Is the charger or the iPad itself getting hot? It's normal for both to get quite warm while charging but they shouldn't get so hot that you can't touch them. If you're truly concerned bring your iPad and it's charger into an Apple Store or contact Apple Support.

Apple chargers usually get quite hot, but if yours gets extremely hot, perhaps faulty. Is it the A1400?
