Does the iPad Pro drain a lot when charging the Pencil?

Is there a battery drain when plugging the Apple Pencil into their iPad Pro? How much power does it take to charge the Pen, how much battery from the iPad Pro is taken?

You can charge the pencil from dead to 100% with only about 1% of your iPad battery so there is nothing to be concerned about.
