Why I can not install face book messenger on lpad pro

Was getting messages that messenger can not be downloaded this time , so I decided to delete the icon. Now trying to get it back

Welcome to iMore! Reset your device by holding the power button and home button down simultaneously until you see the Apple boot logo. Once you're up and running try downloading Messenger again.

Hey,

On occasion I have noticed that kind of behaviour with a few of the apps that I use, including the regularly distributed updates; I think it's a bug. What I can confirm as workaround is to stop the automatic update (and decline to try again when prompted to) and go to the App Store and re-download the app directly (either the app, or the update if the problem was noticed with the latter).
