[RESOLVED]Home button for an Ipad mini 2

My old Ipad mini 2 was unused so I gave it to one of my daughters' friends.
At the end of the setup, I notice that the home button does not work anymore, and switching from one app to the other can be done the same way my Ipad pro. So basically it's now working like an Ipad PRO.

How can I switch it back to the old style using the home button?

What do you mean when you say, "switching from one app to the other can be done the same way (as my) iPad Pro? Which iPad Pro model do you have? The reason I ask is because I have the original 9.7-inch iPad Pro and it has a home button so I'm not sure what you mean when you say "done the same way (as my) iPad Pro". Can you please explain? Thanks.

The iPad Mini 2 does not have Touch ID. Are you sure you aren’t using an iPad Mini 3?
