How come I don't have a delete on my gmail account

I have in my gmail inbox,starred? Not sure what that means,sent mail,drafts,important,all mail,bin and spam no delete! How do I put a delete button on my iPad mini 2

What kind of device are you using? Are you using the native mail app or the gmail app/web site? The folders that appear in the native app are controlled by Gmail and can be adjusted most easily by logging into your gmail account on a Mac/PC and adjusting your settings.

I'm also assuming that by "delete button" you are talking about your trash folder.

Go to settings, mail, gmail. Account,Advanced. Change setting from archive to delete. Button will now show up for each email.

Yes, as stated above, check "deleted mailbox".
