I downloaded Pokemon go on my iPad but I keep getting GPS not found even though my location is on as far as I can tell. Any ideas how to stop this appearing?

The GPS with Pokémon Go is frustrating. It really doesn’t like to work well unless you are completely outside and not under anything. I can get it to work on my iPad Air 2 if I’m by a window, but I am completely unable to get to work on my Moto G5 Plus. It definitely works best on my iPhone 7 Plus though. So I would suggest being sure the location services are turned on for it and that you’re as outside in an open area as you can be. Outside of that, I would try contacting Niantic about it.

Location services are definitely on I double checked & ive allowed Pokemon go to use my location. I'll try by a window next time I use it. My iPad is wifi only so I'm using Pokemon go at home for evolutions & a few other things I can do sat at home. I use it on my Moto X Force (known as the droid turbo 2 in America) to play Pokemon go outside & it's fine even indoors. Strange how you can't get it to work on your Moto G5 plus but I'll definitely try by a window next.

Trying by a window doesn't help. Done some research & people are saying that the wifi only iPads don't have a GPS chip. Is this true? I have the iPad 9.7 inch 5th gen wifi only iPad.

My iPad Air 2 is wifi only and I can get it to work. It doesn’t like to, but I can manage. The biggest issue is however Niantic utilizes GPS, it’s not great.
