I was looking to get an iPad in the near future but have been unlucky in finding an app that teaches piano. Does an app like this exist?

I would be using a real piano so nothing with digital feedback. I do have a keyboard but prefer to use a real piano.

    Thanks.

I'm not sure how you would avoid digital feedback since you're using an iPad. Perhaps I'm not clear on the question. Have you checked the App Store?

Yes I have checked the app store. I believe the closest thing I found was "Piano Maestro" if I remember correctly.

The keyboard I have does have a MIDI in/out but that's hardwire so it's not going to talk to an iPad.

The feedback, if any, I would think the iPad would receive would be analog due to it not talking directly to the piano or keyboard. This is the same thing Siri does... it hears the sound of something over the air with "noise" in the background.

I'm hoping someone with specialised knowledge helps out here. In sorry but I'm out of my depth.

You can try Piano Dust Buster. You'll play on your own real piano, and the app will recognize when you hit the notes of the over 150 popular songs found within.

I've used Piano Dust Buster. It's more of a Guitar Hero Style in it's approach. It does not have standard music notation. Regardless, it's a really good app.
