I don't have the iPad Air, but I do have an iPad Mini and have had an iPad 2, but neither allowed me to think of using them as a "replacement" for my MacBook or even a desktop if I still owned one. As of now, the iPad is still a great "addition" to my MacBook and iPhone.

I just picked up a brother wireless laser printed and it works perfect! I haven't used my desktop in almost a month.

I haven't used a desktop or laptop computer at home for about three years. Once you have committed to using the cloud for just about everything it is very easy to replace a laptop or desktop computer with an iPad. I do have the Apple Bluetooth keyboard for when I need to do some serious work. But other than that, it meets my computing needs completely.

I connect to hospital VPNs for work so boot camp + iMac + IE is mandatory for me. But I find myself using my iPad for 75-80% of general computing probably. The simple app based stuff and/or consumption (surfing, music, videos, etc) are no brainers.
