Saw the iPad Air today while at Sam's Club and after playing with it for about 15 mins. it was very hard to walk away from it but then again I was just returning home from the Apple store picking up my new 5S so I can't say I was totally bummed but it sure would have been nice to have that Air go with the new 5S. Maybe it will be my Christmas Present to myself. LOL
Rolls are reversed in my house too. I get the newest iPhone each year and pass my old one to him and he rolls his eyes at my iPad purchases. But I have to tolerate his WoW addiction.
I'm the Tech person in my house too. Although my husband wants nothing to do with smartphones or iPads. Instead he is still using my 6 year old Motorola V360 that I passed on to him. I can't believe he wouldn't give that thing up for one of my old iPhones.

Wow, that's an "ancient" phone by today's smartphone standards. Maybe a BB 9900 if he likes physical keyboard. I think the ATT models have 4G. Big jump from 2G but perhaps a similar size device. Motorola V360 - Full phone specifications
My wife loves her iPad 2. Surprise Christmas gift almost 2 years ago. Never fired up her Toshiba laptop since, ( I sold it)
First in our family to go Apple.
Now we're all-in.
Good Luck
Now I just want to sit back and crank up the volume on Casino Royale on an iPad Air someday when I get it. I just need the cash...but alas I got so many other targets on my list. So many devices...

The Volume on my iPad Air is absolutely incredible. It's the first iPad that I've owned where I have to keep turning the volume down. At full volume while listening to music it makes my Air shake, lol.

Sent from my iPhone 5S.
Good for ultra loud sing along to high pitch rock singing!
Man everything I hear & read makes me want to trade up from my iPad 2.
Trying resist.
Tks for the info Sean.
Good Luck
I upgraded from my iPad 2 yesterday and I couldn't be happier. Speed, build, screen, audio, cameras, functionality: everything is better coming from the iPad 2.

I put my iPad air beside my Mac and I didn't really notice a difference which is pretty good for the air ( I use boom to have louder sound on my Mac ) Anybody else try this ?
Glad to hear the good comments about the sound quality on the iPad Air. Can anyone give a comparison between the Air and the Retina Mini when it comes to sound? I'm thinking about picking one up this week but am torn between the Mini and the Air.

When I last compared these 2, my iPad Air was louder than the rMini. Both of them do offer great sound quality, though.
I agree the Sound is Incredible but I can't stand being one sided.
Listening to Music I can let it slide but not watching Videos especially Movies that I'm forced to use my Headphones or even in Portrait mode.
I don't mind that they are on the side, however, I think it would have been a better choice if Apple had put one speaker on each side of the iPad Air. If they had done that, the sound quality would really be incredible.
I totally agree. For the most part, the sound coming from one end of the iPad Air is great, but when in landscape mode watching a show, I would prefer it to come from both ends for better stereo sound.
My fianc gave me an iPad Air and I cannot stop playing with it lol. It's my first iPad (I have a 4s) and I absolutely adore it. And I totally agree about the sound quality. I have been all over iTunes Radio and Google Play and loving every minute of it. I do agree with others and wish the speakers were on both sides. But I can deal with it 😁
I'm getting my first ever iPad this week...a 32gb wifi/LTE white Air. So excited, my only other tablet I've owned was a Touchpad which I miss to this day...
