I'm new to these fourms and was considering getting a 128 GB air or mini. I was wondering to those almost at max capacity has their been any lag issues and etc? Any thoughts if the large rest capacity iPad can handle all that information? Thank you very much.

Welcome to IMore, I haven't seen or heard of any issues with lag. And I have no reason to believe that it can't hold that much info.

I got down to 12GB and had no issues, why would there be?

Sadly, I exchanged it for 32GB $1,000 is too much for me. It's still the LTE though.

I have a 128gb model and I'm still loading up all my music and comics on it but I haven't seen any lag issues so far.

When I had a 32 GB iPad 2 and got within 2 GB of filling it, it'd slow down considerably.

Have a 128 GB Air and haven't come close to filling it yet, but I expect that if/when I do, similar lag issues will come up.

I've had my iPad Mini Retina since the week it was released.. 128gb in gray.. Not issues at all. Got 3gb free space. Haven't ever had and issue. Your issue was perhaps a Slower Processor in other iPad. New Air and Mini are fast!

Just a side note that might not be directly related but if you check out benchmark tests for various SSDs you'll see that larger sizes actually have better read/write speed than smaller capacities. Might not apply completely to storage on an iPad but speaks to the overall question of more storage equating to slower access speeds.
