When editing with iMovie video's taken with either my Galaxy S5 or my iPhone 5s what are the differences saving in either 360p, 540p or 720p and 1080p as far as file sizes ?

My Air is the 32gb version and I would like to keep as much storage/memory available and free as possible.

I've done some test vids and saved in 360p and 540p and really don't see a big noticeable difference in video quality when playing back on my iPad.

I'm not exporting to YouTube or watching the vids on my 80" flat screen TV,,,, the video's are just for iPad viewing.

Any info on saving video in 360p, 540p or 720p or 1080p with iMovie on my 32gb Air would be most welcome,,,, video quality, file storage size and anything else I might be missing in my questions.

If you are creating the videos for your own viewing, and since you say the 360p resolution is fine for your purposes, why sweat it? If it works at 360p, go with that. Certainly each bump in resolution will increase the file size. How much with each bump, I can’t say. But if 360p is acceptable for what you’re doing, just go with that. Frame rate and bit rate would also affect quality and file size, but again, go with what works.

The only thing I know is that between 720p and 1080p there is about a 3x increase in file size
