1 person in line at Deer Park Illinois Apple store. A fee waiting in cars. Nobody at the Best Buy or AT&T. Will stay warm in car until the line gets bigger.

Absolutely! Maybe Apple and VS could collaborate and do a special edition iPad so we've got an excuse ;-)

Just got to Boylston's Store in Boston and the line is pretty short when i came at about 7.10 am! I'm the third on the line for store pick up and there are about 15 people lining up on the non-store pick up line!

Woot woot!

Ordered at 6:30 for in store pickup, got email that it's ready at 7:30. Waiting for store to open at 8.

Probably about 40 people in the regular line and only 4 in front of me for in store pickup. Tyson's Corner VA

Looks like Best Buy is doing strictly in-store only right now. I'll have to take my chances and go after work. I get out at 4pm EST. Several Best Buy locations in my area so hopefully someone will have a 32gb space gray left.

Currently have a iPad 4 128GB that I rarely use (mainly use it to put movies on and stream to the Apple TV) and a 1st gen mini. So I'm holding out for the retina mini 128GB.

Picked up a 32gb space gray!

I was in and out in 10 minutes and that included looking at and deciding to get a smart case.

Yeah us too. I saw the cases. They were nice.

Ordered 64g Silver at 12:40 A.M. PST. for pick-up today. Seven hours later still being "processed" and waiting for notification what time I can pick up. Credit card has been charged. Wondering if "processing" East Coast and Midwest first?

Later: Notification from Apple came at 8:30 that my new Air was ready and waiting. Great pick-up experience at La Encantada in Tucson. Store busy but I was there about 30 minutes max. including start of restore from iPad3. Probably 10 people in line who had not pre-ordered when I left at 1:30. BTW - love the Air. It is stunning.

While I was waiting to order on-line last night I saw an old episode of 'Star Trek- Deep Space Nine' , and they were carrying around tablets that looked almost exactly like an iPad Air. I wonder if Jonny Ive is a fan....hmmm!
