The thing I enjoy about my iPad 3 is the ability to hold it in a variety of ways and not have to worry about having my holding fingers cover parts of the screen. I'm curious to see if this will be an issue for other people?

I doubt it, but without getting my hands on one to test out, I can't say for certain.

I'm sure Apple took this into consideration. It will probably not be an issue.

In the iPad Air video on apple.com, the majority of people are shown holding it in landscape mode where the bezel is much wider....

Bezels are about the same as the mini and I haven't seen complaints about that.

The mini can be held like a phone, which is why the bezels aren't as important IMO.

I definitely can't hold a mini like a phone. To me it is still a two-handed device whereas my phone can be used one-handed. Anyway, I've used my kids' iPad minis two handed and never had an issue with the bezels in portrait or landscape mode.
If I remember correctly from last fLl's keynote introducing the mini, there is some sort of software logic to determine if you are just holding the screen and your fingers are slightly off the bezel or you are purposefully touching the screen for an action.

Yea, and on the iPad Air website it mentions it uses the same software as the mini to determine holds, touches and such.
