Continuity not working on IPad Air 2

So for some odd reason continuity is no longer working on my iPad Air 2. So I no longer get my text messages from my iPhone. When I try to turn on text forwarding on my iPhone I do not get a code on my iPad to activate the feature again. Anyone know what the problem might be?

I'm not sure. Having said that, try rebooting both devices and then try again.

That doesn't seem to work. I've also tried logging out of icloud on both devices and logging back in. So I think I'm going to try resetting my Ipad to stock settings and back everything up.
