iPad 5th gen. wont charge

So my iPad 5th gen.battery died and I can't charge it anymore, it shows a battery icon but no cable or lightning bolt, waited a long time ad no change, a new cable will be coming tomorrow morning, was using apple standard cable but it might have got fried out. Please help why is this happening. Sorry if wrong category.

Have you tried a different charger or even plugging into a different wall outlet ? Are you sure your outlet works ? If it’s a GFI outlet, push the reset button.

Wife accidentally hit the test button on a GFI outlet once.

Yes, make sure you use the charger you came with -- or a charging brick that will supply a similar (or higher) wattage. If you try using a smaller charger, like what comes with an iPhone, or a USB port on a computer it doesn't supply enough power to allow the iPad to charge.

Oh the outlet is a GFI (with a red switch, there are two sides, reset and off. Currently it’s on the reset side and power is going to other electronics connected, cable box, google home mini, android tablet, etc.)

I don’t have battery health so this is all i can show you, iPad was purchased in the beginning of August 2017 with iOS 10.3.2, iOS version is now 11.4.
