I have an iPad 3 3G GSM bought in the UK, and I need to restore it in iTunes. But when clicking restore and d/ling the firmware, it downs 3,3 instead of 3,2. Is this a bug or what?
I know I can do shift+restore just curious as to why iTunes is reporting the wrong version, and if it's even iTunes bug or the iPad's bug.

No, iTunes is not reporting a wrong version.

The current iOS version is 5.1.1 -- that's what you'll get doing a restore.

3,2 is the CDMA version, I believe. You're getting the right one. See here: iClarified - iPad - Where To Download iPad Firmware Files From

I'm confused as many sites online are saying 3,2 is GSM and 3,3 is CDMA, I really want to be 100% sure before I end up bricking it when jailbreaking or something.

I don't say this often, but here you should just trust iTunes to do its job.

By the way you wouldn't brick it; worst case scenario it would just error out and tell you the iPad wasn't eligible for the firmware you tried to use. Then you could try again with the other one.
