What if I just turned it off via my iPad's setting for say half a month or a full month. Will I have to pay for that month as it's a monthly payment thing?

My iPad2 has the Verizon plan and it is $20 a month for 1 GB. You have to pay for the 1 GB before you can use it. If you cancel then you do not get a refund for any unused portion of the data. If you don't use up the 1 GB you don't get any extra the next month either.
