Heres my thoughts on what we'll get in the next generation of iPad. For starters given the specs we might see it with a name like
It is if the specs below are some what correct. A redesign would constitute the iPad 3 name.
For hardware specs I'm leaning towards theses:
We won't see LTE, Apple will leave major carrier and network support to be unveiled on there iPhone range. The iPad isn't a phone it's a tablet, if theres going to be anything major as far as networks it'll be on the iPhone.

Retina Display
Longer battery life
Same design
Wifi or GSM+CDMA models
16, 32, 64Gb variants
Ether Quad Core or Dual Core - I've seen evidence for both. - Ether way it'll be the A6
