ios8 made my ipad2 very slow. A recent tech program rumored that ios9 would actually provide better performance on older devices. Is this true?
    Thanks...

Nobody will know this until you load it on your own device. I believe a lot has to do on how you use your device as well.

Since I no longer have an iPad 2 to test it out for you, I can only say that iOS 9 may or may not work better on your iPad than iOS 8. Still, I would upgrade to it and then set up the device as new instead of from a backup.

For sure for the OP so as to get the best running start so to speak set up as indicated by Just Me and at least start out clean!
