Duplicate Emails Displaying During Preview

iPad 2 OS 5.1

I've gone over the settings and just can't figure this out.

Whenever I receive an email while my screen is locked, the email preview displays the message twice.
So both are displaying at the same time.
This is only happening with the preview. I am not getting duplicate emails.

BTW: this was happening before the iOS 5.1 update.

Any help would be appreciated.

...really odd. Go to Settings \ Mail, Calendar, Contact, turn the email off, wait a minute or two, and then turn it back on.

Once done, send yourself a test email, and see how it reacts.

Failing that, turn notifications off for Mail. Restart the device, and then turn it on again. Then test it...

Unfortunately that didn't,
Also, I noticed that the email preview displays twice regardless of whether the screen is locked or not.
Any other suggestions.

Gmail through exchange.

Again, just getting dupes on preview. Not dupes of the email themselves.
Not getting preview dupes on my iPhone 4S.
