    This is strange ...
    I connected my iPad2 for the first time and in the file explorer is shows 28GB free of 58GB.
    See screenshot.

    Has anyone else noticed this?
    Do I have a 64GB iPad2 locked down to only 32GB?

    That's what I would think, but I have never seen that done before. My PlayBook is 32 gb and it started with 26 or 28 gb.

    Agreed, iTunes should give you a little more detail on what's installed on your iPad and what the true capacity is.

    All devices aren't always what they seem. Usually due to having things pre installed on the phone. General OS and pre installed apps. It definitely shouldn't be that big of a drop though. Your PC may just be reading it wrong, but like the other two. Plug it into iTunes, it will show what is taking up what space.
