Users complain of huge iOS 14.6 battery drain and overheating

Multiple users on Apple's latest iOS 14 update are complaining of excessive battery drain, as well as overheating issues even when their iPhone is idle.

Yes, probably. as usual the difficulty is establishing a norm ! I never remember to run Geekbench the day before and three days after an upgrade. I do think that my batteries are not lasting as long as prior to 14:6, but I can’t prove it !

Interesting. My 11 Pro is updated to 14.6 and yesterday I noticed the overheating. At one point it was almost to hot to handle, and I shut it down. Hopefully, no internals were compromised. No info yet on battery drain.

Haven’t noticed a problem with the battery life on my iPhone 12 with iOS 14.6.

Is anybody having severe battery drain issues with the I OS 14.6 update? I’ve seen some posts here and there to that effect on here & other tech sites…and I want to know before I download the iOS upgrade.

I have heard it mentioned, on this site, but I don’t think anyone has come forward with anything one might call “severe battery drain”

Well, let me jump in and say that my battery usage is has increased approximately 50-60% since I upgraded to iOS 14.6 yesterday. I’m not impressed…at all.

Just found out today that Apple isn't signing iOS 14.5 any longer...so even if I wanted (or YOU wanted) to downgrade back to 14.5 to save battery life...it's not possible.

The battery life on my 11 Pro Max isn’t as good as 14.5 but it isn’t terrible either. I’ve noticed on both my kids 11’s some battery drain while idle but again nothing severe. For me iOS 14 battery overall hasn’t thrilled me. The best battery life I ever had on my iPhone was iOS 10.3.3 (RIP) and everything after it has been meh.

I haven’t noticed a difference on my 11 pro max. I wonder if certain apps might be causing it.
