I have background refresh off on everything. This update is pretty bad so far, maybe worse than 13. I’ve got games and apps lagging and stuttering now that never did before. I’m due for a new iPad anyway, so I shouldn’t be surprised, but the battery drain on my phone as well is a total first.

They’ve stuffed way too much crap in this OS now that I will never, ever use. I guess this is Apple’s way around throttling back performance on old devices.
I'm sorry you're having such troubles. Have you contacted Apple Support? It may be worth while to do so!

Seems to have finally settled down after 4 days. Battery life is still not quite as good as 13.whatever, but not as bad as it was right after the update. No more stuttering, either. This was the longest settling-in period that I can remember (except for 13.0, which never settled in until 13.1 dropped!).

Just finished the download and install of 14.1, looks like just bug fix update. I will put it through the paces the next couple of days. So far I am liking IOS 14.

I'm still on iOS 14 (I will probably update tonight) and my iPhone has been off the charger for 8 hours (9 to 5) and I'm at 73% as I type with plenty of usage. This is acceptable to me.

that bad habit came about as a result of renumbering some music albums' tracks so they'd play in the correct order in or out of a given playlist...I got tired of having to go '01, 02...' etc.

14.0.1 is just much better overall. Better battery and lagging appears to be gone.

Yeah, great. iPad had finally settled down on 14 after 4 days and was running mostly normally. Battery life wasn’t exactly stellar, but at least acceptable. So like an ***** I installed 14.0.1 earlier this evening, snd now it’s running like CRAP again. I guess I should just accept that this thing will be basically unusable for DAYS after these updates now.

its a breakdown of everything that you've used appwise, by percentages of battery time...least far as I understand it.

It took several days, but iPad is behaving normally again, and battery life seems close to what it was before 14, if not the same. So now I’m in no hurry for the next update.

It took well over a week for my gen 5 to settle down to 14 and several days after 14:0:1, speeds ok but not stellar now.

I don't think mine is experiencing a significant battery drain. The only thing that is using more battery is ME! I can't leave my phone alone. I keep adding widgets, removing widgets, tweaking my home screens. It's me, me and only me, that is the problem!
