IPad 3 bad Apple ID

About 7 years ago I called Apple and had them cancel an Apple ID. I think I was the first to do that. Well I did not log out of my IPad before that happened so now the Apple ID cannot be gotten rid of. I have another Apple ID in it also but I get pop is messages to enter my old Apple ID password that no longer exist. Apple said if I provided the original receipt I could send it in but that doesn’t exist. Any help wiping this device clean? I don’t have anything on it I need to save.
