iPhone X gestures and Status bar on older iPhone models

I just installed iOS 12 on my iPad 5th gen, and was thinking to myself if Apple will make older iPhones have the same layout and gestures as the iPhone X as they have done with the iPad. I know it’s minor, but would be cool to see the same layout and gestures across all models...it’s certainly doable, but then again it’s also Apple.
