Should the previous owner do erase all settings or erase all content and settings? I got one before and it was still connected to the previous owners Apple ID. I went back to her but I’m trying to figure out how to keep that from happening again. It’s been a while and I don’t remember.

First off, that person needs to turn off Find iPhone in Settings > iCloud. Then log out of iCloud. And then you have to Erase All Contents and Settings.

That way the device will no longer be connected to the previous owners Apple ID.

    I hope this helps.

If possible, have the seller do the things mentioned by Tartarus in your presence.

Well seems she just upgraded. I’m with VZW and she’s with ATT and so she can’t unlock and has to wait 14 days.
