Yes it is.
iOS 12 isn’t officially released yet. Unless you want to use beta releases, which I only recommend if you’re aware of the issues that may come with it.

I am on ios 12 and my battery life has really taken a hit. I have a new battery in my 6s and the phone has died on me twice when I haven't even been using it. (My daily driver is a Pixel 2 XL on Android P). Other than that it seems stable. But if you use your iPhone as your main phone then I would leave well alone right now for the battery hit alone.

If you’re feeling adventurous then sure why not. I’ve been running the beta on my iPhone 8 Plus and have faced no major issues. Zilch.

Be advised that there's currently an issue with contacts name sync between iPhone and Apple Watch with current beta iOS beta version. Not a big deal for me as I have everyone's cell phone numbers memorized, but it is an inconvenience.

Yup. Getting that now. Not a huge deal. Just annoying.

It's also affecting shared activity sync contacts. Mine are all shows as email addresses on my watch. Feedback sent.

The newest beta works great my X. No problems whatsoever. I think you’d be pretty safe at this stage of the game.
