Tonight I was trying to take a photo of my 1 year old daughter as she was sitting on my wife's lap. I have my living room Hue lights setup to start auto-dimming from 6pm until 9pm to help with out natural sleep/wake cycles so the lighting was a little dim. I had the thought that it would be really nice if I could just point to the one bulb overhead and brighten it for the photo.

Then it hit me, what if Apple builds a HomeKit interface that utilizes ARKit? How awesome would it be to hold my phone and have a HomeKit overlay on top of a live image, and I could just touch on an accessory to manipulate it; not having to know it's name myself, or know how to ask Siri to do what I want?

Anyway, that's my idea. Do you think this would be useful? Possible? Do you think Apple could use ARKit for HomeKit in some other way? Let me know your thoughts.
