I am running iOS 11 Beta 2, which just introduced support for Dropbox in the new Files app.

Currently, I can't seem to drag and drop a file from one app (such as Mail) into a Dropbox folder in the Files app.

Did Apple include an API that would allow for this? It would be great to drag & drop directly into a Dropbox folder in Files when iOS 11 is officially released this fall.

I think I read somewhere, or watched a video, that said it's not fully functional yet.

The support for Dropbox in the Files app comes from Apple self. The supporting of the new features off Files app has to come from Dropbox.
And since they’re not allowed to use the new iOS 11 API’s you will have to wait till iOS 11 is released officially.

Dropbox supports it. However, you have to update to Beta 3.
