iPhone SE notifications on lock screen

In beta 1 and still beta 2, they've replaced the swipe for rich notifications with a long press. However, on my iPhone SE, this doesn't work unless the device is unlocked, even though I previously and still seem to have it setup to be able to interact while locked. Has anyone else experienced this? Been really frustrating because it works perfectly as it should on my iPad Air 2 from the lock screen but not my phone. If anyone found a way around this, I'd love to hear. Thanks.

Hmm, I was just about to install it on my SE. Maybe I need to wait a little longer.

Sigh, Beta 3 same prob. There has got to be other SE users running into the same thing?
