Google maps

Hi everyone
I'm having a problem with google searche app, every time I search for a place like a gas station and press for directions the search app takes me to google maps but the maps don't show any map it freezes where you choose car or walking or bus ..etc
Need help please!

What OS?
Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app?

I was having problem with my preinstalled google maps. It would always tell me things couldn't be found. So I got on my app store and downloaded another version of google maps that works way better
