I'm having an issue with contacts and keeping a photo attached to them, especially in iMessage. If I attach a contact to a photo, it will work for a while and then all of a sudden it will go away. Happens randomly for different contacts. I've added and re-added photos several times but it keeps happening. Anybody know what the issue is? I'm on iOS 10.1.1 iPhone 7plus. Thanks!

This starting happening to me with my Outlook account contacts. I exported them to my iCloud contacts and the pictures are staying put.

This happened to me on my 6s and iOS 10 beta.

This has been happening to me for about a year. Very annoying to have a selected picture for a contact just disappear. Or the picture just won't select. Really annoying that Apple does absolutely nothing about problems like this. I have IOS 10.3.1 and this has been happening since 9

Do you guys per chance sync your contacts with Facebook or Twitter?
It could be that those apps are overwriting the contact photos for you:

You need to synce the photos to iTunes for backup just to be safed

This is happening to me too! I have iOS 10.3.1 and every time I try to save a photo to a contact, it saves for a few seconds and then just disappears and reverts back to the contact's initials. Does anyone have a resolution to this issue? SO annoying.
