Calendar Reminders Not Notifying Me?

I just switched from Android to iOS and so far the transition has been seamless. Everything on iOS just "works"

There is one problem I have though which is I am not receiving any notifications for my calendar reminders. All of my accounts are synced with Calendar and show up in my Calendar. I've gone into the following settings:

Calendar-->Default Alert Times-->Events-->15 minutes before

Is there something I'm missing?

Have you checked in settings / notifications / calendar that notifications are turned on, including for all of the types (upcoming events, invitations, etc.)? It should be by default, IIRC...

Yep all of those have notifications on.

If you open up any future events, does it have alerts set? That should be listed on the Event Details page when you tap on an event in the calendar.

Yep, it has 15 minute reminder in the event itself too.

Are all of these synced events? If not, what happens if you create an event on the phone with an alert set?

Also, which service are you syncing with? If it's Google, you could install the Google calendar app and just set up notifications for that app.
