On previous versions the phone would make a fake phone call and play the prompt through the car. Now it only plays when I have the mule tooth music source on my radio picked. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I'm going to assume you meant Bluetooth instead of mule tooth. Still, what specifically are you referring to?

Blue tooth.... on previous versions of iOS I could go to settings and select HFP under map settings. Now there is no problem option

I'm still not seeing how it would make a fake phone call. Anyway, I assume you followed the instructions listed in the link you provided.

That feature didn't make a fake phone call. What it did was allow a BT source that could not be used for media playback but could be used for phone calls to have map direction prompts sent to the BT device using the phone interface, so that they directions could be heard over BT. While I don't need this option myself, it's too bad that Apple removed this feature in iOS 10.
