Hopefully we will see this in the second beta!

I'm sure a lot of people will run dark mode constantly and I definitely want to try it out. Also would be cool if there were settings to 'schedule' dark mode like night shift - would really be a cool feature; when the sun goes down, your whole phone interface changes!

Me thinks it will be just a dark grey side of things, rather then full on black. But we will see.

Me too. It's just odd that it wasn't shown off at WWDC. My guess is it wasn't ready yet. Apple is a stickler for design aesthetics and will probably want ALL of its apps to be compatible with dark mode prior to showing it off. Just a guess.
