i've tried to update my iPod touch 5 and my iPad mini 2, and it sayes it will take 23hrs . Can this be right or am i doing something wrong

Sounds like you're on a terribly slow network connection. After download, the update itself should take less than 10 minutes.

depends on your internet connectivity... and the connectivity between your ISP and Apple - there could be issues anywhere in that span that will make your download time change... You might reset your internet modem if you have that ability... as well as resetting any wifi hotspot you're connected to if it's yours to reset at will.

I have updated 5 devices (2 iPhones, 3 iPads) and none took more that about 7-8 minutes. Check your wifi network.

Ya nothing more then 10 min. There is a issue. I even updated during peak time.

I had a similar problem. With no wifi where I live, I use the public library with varying speeds. At times it showed 0.6 Mbps. Max was 3 Mbps.

Constantly! After several attempts over a period of 3 days I finally had it downloaded.
Why won't they let me use my cellular data? It runs from 4 to 8 Mbps

It's an agreement between Apple and the carriers. All it takes is one person to blow through their data cap and then start looking for someone to blame. Apple and the carriers chose to nip it in the bud.

I guess it all has to do with a changing society where individuals prefer to see themselves as victims rather than take responsibility for their actions.
