As the thread title says, any ideas how to do this?
My iPhone is jailbroken, and I've set up port forwarding on my time capsule and NAS.
I'd like to be able to access my music from anywhere.
The thing is though, that all my music is lossless, so not sure if this will work.
How does 'AirPlay' work? Is that an option if the above isnt?

iTunes on iPhone plays music that is either physically stored on the device, or streamed via iTunes in the Cloud...or a home shared library.

Yes, but mounting a network drive to a folder can act as something physically stored.

iPhones can't be made to access network storage.

You can't do that at least on a stock iPhone. It may be possible on a jail broken device. So I'm going to move your thread to the Jailbreak forum. And AirPlay only works within the same network and would not be of help here.

That app appears to facilitate moving files between computers, NAS, and cloud based services but not to or from iOS devices...

You can't use the music app. But an app from the appstore like file browser, or FileExplorer will allow you to connect remotely to your storage. You can browse and play selected files.
I presume one track at a time.

Makes sense. found this https://code.google.com/p/impdclient/ which could probably play songs from the remote drive.

I can play songs from my dropbox cloud storage using the dropbox app. iPhone 6S if that matters

iTunes Match would be so much easier and less hassle .. Worth the 25 a year imho

Why not just use the stock music app? I do. I have playlists set up and use the Music Launcher widget to control it. Dropbox seems like a hassle.
