Mine was 1.65 GB at iOS 8.1. Now mine is 1.25 GB after 8.1.1 update this morning. i asked a question earlier and members said that it's always going to be there.

i wonder what is the smallest size you have seen (after restore as new)?

When the phone is connected to a computer running iTunes.

After the update to 8.1.1 and a backup to the PC it went down to 1.03 gb

now mine goes back up from 1.25 gb (after update to 8.1.1) to 1.5 gb (again!)
