Dictation not working in quick reply

Has anyone else have had a problem withdictation not working in quick reply. It works everywhere else including messages and Siri but whenever I respond to a text from the lock screen I can type but the microphone is grayed out

Hmmm, I just audibly replied to an iMessage using Quick Reply from the lock screen and it worked without a problem. All i can do is tell you to go through the Settings carefully to make sure everything is set correctly.

Thanks man but yes the computer is plugged in haha just kidding but yeah all the settings are good and it's working today but it was yesterday I coildnt use it. Wonder if the servers were down or something

Sort of related question: Is dictation reliant on a data connection to work like Siri is?

I believe it is. If it's anything like googles it takes your recording sends it to the server to decipher then it inputs the text
