Keyboard font popup keys

With iOS 8.0.2 installed on my iPad 3rd gen I'm noticing something odd. When I type the keys pop up smaller than the actual keyboard layout. Apple is slacking.

Your explanation of this issue is lacking. Can you describe what you are actually seeing and then explain what you expect to see? Including screen shots might help, too.

I get the "popup keys" on my iPhone 6 Plus, but not on my retina iPad Mini. Perhaps it’s an iPhone only thing because of the size of the device? A reboot did not change anything.

The strange thing is this issue goes away on its own. Yet another iOS 8 bug. I also noticed this on my friend's iPhone 6.
