Downloading IOS is taking forever. Going on 4 hours with a 75mb Fios DOWNLOAD speed

Is there anyway to just shut off the downloading process and start from fresh in a day or two when the load on servers aren't so heavy?

I just shut my ipad off for about 15 minutes after turning back on I was back to square one. Relieved, I was on about 5 hours downloading on a very fast wifi connection. Going to wait a day & try again.
