IOS 8 'Extensions' feature absent form iPhone 5?

I recently updated to IOS 8 and was looking forward to the new ability to use filters from apps (Instagram, VSCO Cam) in the native Photo app as IOS 8 was suppose to be able to do. But it isn't showing up on my iPhone 5 - is it only on the new iPhone 6? Also camera roll album has gone?! That is such a bad move....

Ah Ok, well I will just have to wait for them to update the apps! Hope it isn't too long before they roll out the new versions so we can use the new extension feature!
